Coconut oil, or copra oil, is an edible oil extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). It has various applications. Because of its high saturated fat content, it is slow to oxidize and, thus, resistant to rancidification, lasting up to six months at 24 °C (75 °F) without spoiling.

DIY COCONUT OIL NIGHT CREAM (3 INGREDIENTS)


This DIY coconut oil night cream is hydrating and so easy to make. All you need are 3 ingredients, a hand mixer or a whisk and some elbow grease.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup coconut oil, solid
½ tsp vitamin E oil
¼ tsp tea tree oil
INSTRUCTIONS

Add the coconut oil to a mixing bowl and whip with an electric mixer until light and fluffy*
Mix in the vitamin E and tea tree oils
Store in a container (I used a small mason jar) and use at night before bed after you cleanse your face

NOTES
*If the coconut oil is too solid, soften a little by microwaving for 5 - 10 seconds. You want it to be a little soft, but not liquid at all.
