5 foods that thicken the blood
Cardiovascular diseases are still in the first place in the number of deaths, so it is worth thinking about their prevention, even if you are now completely healthy and young. One of the most common problems faced by millions of people is blood thickening (i.e., a violation of its normal clotting). There can be a great many reasons for this - from malnutrition to serious chronic diseases and the consequences of the postponed coronavirus. The former can be easily corrected by reducing the consumption of certain foods.
Potato
Even with a lot of useful properties (we wrote about them here), potatoes contain a large amount of starch, which directly affects the thickening of the blood. Fried potatoes are especially dangerous for the health of the cardiovascular system, since fats are also added to the shock dose of starch. It is not necessary to give up potatoes completely. You just have to eat it boiled and not every day.
Bananas
These sugary, nutritious fruits are high in sugar and potassium, which, if consumed in excess, can cause blood to thicken. Fructose in bananas is quickly processed into lipid compounds that are dangerous for the heart and blood vessels. However, with these fruits, the situation is the same as with potatoes - it is not necessary to completely exclude them from the diet, just keep track of the amount.
Walnuts
With walnuts, the situation is ambiguous: they contain both beneficial and harmful substances for the blood. Tannins, which are rich in nuts, provoke blood thickening, and omega-3 fatty acids, which are not less in them, on the contrary, improve blood flow and strengthen the walls of blood vessels. In order not to experience the harm of walnuts, you should pay attention to their quantity in the diet - no more than 2-4 pieces per day.
Sugar
Common white sugar, which can be found in almost all ready-made foods - from sweets and baked goods to low-fat milk and semi-finished products - provokes sharp jumps in blood glucose, resulting in an increase in the production of harmful lipid compounds, the blood thickens and the risk of thrombosis increases. Ideally, you should completely eliminate white sugar from your diet, but if you have a sweet tooth, here's how much sugar you can eat per day without harm to your health.
Parsley
Parsley is one of the healthiest types of greens, rich in many substances important for the body. However, you should not get carried away with its use: due to the record content of vitamin K, it can cause blood clots. People with high blood pressure should be especially attentive to it.
