The sun's rays have a beneficial effect on our body by synthesizing vitamin cholecalciferol, or D3, which is involved in many processes. To get it, it is quite enough to be in the sun for half an hour several times a week.

At the same time, it is important not to be under the rays at the peak of activity — from 10 to 14 hours. Excess ultraviolet radiation harms the skin and the body as a whole.

I will tell you how to protect yourself from ultraviolet radiation and restore the skin after a sunburn.

Why you need to worry
Different skin types react to solar activity in their own way. Failure to comply with simple rules of protection from ultraviolet radiation can have a bad effect on the condition of the skin. Due to prolonged exposure to the sun, elastin damage occurs. As a result, the skin is covered with wrinkles earlier, becomes brittle, loses elasticity, its shade changes.

Some people, especially white-skinned and red-haired, have freckles on their face in the spring — pigmented spots. They are not dangerous. But by itself, a change in pigmentation can mean a violation of the skin and become the first sign of a serious disease. Therefore, if freckles change color, shape and size, and the skin itches and bleeds in the places where they appear, immediately consult a doctor.

Ultraviolet radiation is of two types: A and B. Ultraviolet type A activates the production of melanin - is responsible for darkening the skin and the appearance of a quick tan. Penetrating deep into the skin, this type of ultraviolet light damages the cells responsible for the production of collagen and elastin. There is a so-called photoaging.

Type B ultraviolet light stimulates the creation of melanin, which covers the skin with a tan for a long time. It activates the process of cell division of the upper layer of the skin, contributing to an increase in its thickness. This increases the protection of the skin from the sun. But intense and prolonged ultraviolet radiation of type B leads to sunburn of the skin.

What is SPF
To prevent the sun's unwanted effects on your skin, it needs to be protected. To do this, there are various creams, lotions, skin care products with special substances that prevent the pe*******on of ultraviolet light into the upper layer. These sunscreen components are called SPF. On each skin product with such protection, the number of units of this factor is indicated.

The higher the number (maximum 50), the higher the protection. It means how much time you can spend in the sun without harming your body. If your skin burns even after 10 minutes on the beach, a product with 30 filter units will extend this period to 300 minutes. But keep in mind that after bathing, the sunscreen must be applied again.

Good sanskrins — the so-called sunscreen cosmetics - are able to protect the skin from both types of ultraviolet radiation. But not even the most miraculous remedy is able to provide 100% protection. To avoid problems, you need to follow the standard recommendations: do not go out in the open sun from 10 to 14 o'clock, wear sunglasses, as well as a hat and clothes covering the most sensitive areas of the body.

It is important to know that in summer you can get burned even in cloudy weather, because ultraviolet light passes through the clouds. Therefore, you should not leave the house without using protective cosmetics. It should be applied 20 minutes before the exit and updated every two hours.

What are the means
There are two types of sanskrins: with a mineral or physical protective filter and with a chemical filter. Mineral products include zinc or titanium dioxide. They are thick, more suitable for skin sensitive to the sun. Products with a chemical protective filter absorb ultraviolet light at a deeper level. In the composition of such cosmetics there are active ingredients: octinoxate, avobenzone and oxybenzone. Such products are usually easier to apply to the skin, they are more water-resistant. There are means in which both types of these components are connected.

Among the remedies there are creams, lotions, sprays and gels. The choice of a particular type of sanskrit depends on personal preferences, skin type, time spent in the sun.

How to take into account the features of the skin
It is better for people with oily skin to use sunscreens with a light structure: lotions, fluids, emulsions with a drying effect and without oil. The composition should not contain petroleum jelly, paraffin-oleic, palmettic or stearic acids. A sanskrit with a mineral filter should be used carefully. For example, zinc oxide is a good antiseptic, it fights inflammation, but titanium dioxide in high concentration clogs the pores of the skin.

Dry skin needs hydration and good nutrition. UV protection products should not contain alcohol. Suitable cosmetics with oils, vitamins, amino acids, chamomile, aloe vera, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, coenzyme Q 10.

For skin sensitive to irritation, we need sanskrins with the highest protective factor, but without substances that can cause allergies. It is best to use a sun cream for children. Remember that a chemical filter can cause allergies on the skin. Therefore, choose a sanskrit with a physical protection filter. The composition of such a remedy usually contains hyaluronic acid, plant extracts, rose oil, allantoin, as well as panthenol, which relieves irritation. Suitable products with a light texture: fluid, emulsion, milk with SPF 50+ protection.

What to do if you are still burned
Use an after-sun cream or lotion with a plant extract that can relieve skin irritation. Apply the product after a shower on a slightly moistened body with a thin layer. It is good to use a cream that contains hydrocortisone, it will relieve itching, burning and swelling.

If you do not have the necessary cosmetics at hand, you can apply a cold compress, take a cold shower. Yogurt will help relieve the pain from a burn, strong black tea relieves inflammation, and ordinary cucumber is a good antioxidant that can cool burnt skin. You can take painkillers. In no case do not use greasy and oily products.
