don’t think that a cheap look is justified just because the clothes are inexpensive. It’s not about the price; it’s about the knowledge and skills that are better applied every day when getting dressed in the morning

so what undermines appearance?

❶ fit – this might be the most important point of all. Even the most expensive piece of clothing won’t make the right impression if it doesn’t fit your body properly

how to fix it? ~ find a tailor and have your clothes adjusted to your body shape

❷ “all at once” clothes. Shirts with rhinestones, sequins, fringe, and holes all on the same piece. Pants with huge pockets, embroidery, and ruffles. You’ll see a lot of examples like this in stores. They’re trying to offer us complicated solutions so we don’t have to think about combining pieces. But often, this kind of clothing is more like a museum exhibit than something wearable

what’s better? ~ choose simple clothing that fits perfectly and then add accessories or accent pieces to make your outfit unique

how to make your look unique? ~ learn how to choose accessories and mix them with your clothes

❸ fastenings – cheap plastic buttons, flimsy or heavy zippers in bright yellow metal, and strange button designs in odd geometric shapes

how to fix it? ~ buttons shouldn’t be a deal-breaker. You can easily replace them with a tailor. Swap out plastic buttons for something more upscale, like metal, bone, wood, or pearls. A zipper, on the other hand, can be a deciding factor when choosing clothes

❹ silhouette ~ this is where underwear comes in. Here’s what you need to remember:

• underwear shouldn’t show or even be noticeable. Seamless pieces work well under delicate fabrics
• if you want to make a wow impression at an event but haven’t had time to get your body in shape, shapewear can help
• under white clothing, always wear nude-colored underwear

remember, it’s not about spending a fortune, but about paying attention to the details that elevate your look. Small adjustments can make a big difference in how you present yourself to the world

The first is buying quick trends that never quite integrate into their lifestyle before they’re replaced by the next one. The second is a rational purchase of basic pieces that can be mixed and matched, but end up creating outfits that feel more like a uniform
