OILY SKIN NEEDS EMOLLIENTS TOO! 💧✨

One of the biggest skincare misconceptions is that oily skin should avoid anything that moisturises or softens the skin.

Oiliness does not automatically mean your skin barrier has enough lipids.

Your skin can produce plenty of sebum and still feel dehydrated, tight, irritated or have a weakened barrier. This is where the right emollients come in.

Emollients help soften and smooth the spaces between skin cells, support the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss. The key for oily or acne-prone skin is choosing lightweight, non-comedogenic or low-comedogenic ingredients that are less likely to clog pores.

So don't try to dry your oily skin into submission. 😅

Pores don’t physically “open and close,” but they can appear larger when excess oil, dead skin cells and debris accumulate inside them.

Perfecting Toner, ingredients such as apple c***r vinegar can help with surface oil and buildup, while chamomile hydrosol, rose water and aloe vera water provide soothing and hydration. Sodium lactate is also a humectant, which helps skin retain water.

One important distinction: removing oil isn't always enough to make pores look smaller long-term. Ingredients that normalize oil production and prevent congestion—such as niacinamide and salicylic acid—found in our FADE SERUM generally have stronger evidence for improving the appearance of oily, congested pores.
