We survived a global pandemic just to go back to skipping soap? Ive wanted to post this on social media for a while now. Ive been witness to several people in bathrooms either simply wetting their hands with water after using the facilities or not washing their hands at all. What ever happened to singing "It's a Small World...?"

Working directly in what I would consider personal hygiene; I’ve had a front-row seat to how fast handwashing standards have collapsed since COVID-19 receded. Everyone got tired of sanitizing, so they threw basic habits out the window.

Hand-washing was a fairly routine conversation for me until I had a very dear friend become sick with E.coli. As a sister aesthy, she offers hand/arm massage with her treatments and it is probable, not just possible, that she contacted the disease from a client who has not been doing a great job at hand washing. She was forced out of work for over a week, bedridden and on heavy antibiotics just to pull through. It’s brutal, completely exhausting, and entirely preventable.

COVID made us fear coughs, but post-pandemic "hygiene fatigue" is inviting bacterial outbreaks back to the table. E. coli spreads silently on door handles, touchscreens, and shared surfaces when people settle for a quick splash of water without soap.

Proper hygiene was never supposed to be a temporary trend. Wash your hands—20 seconds, warm water, soap, every single time. Protect yourself and the people around you.

And for all of the Hand Sanitizer thinkers... Nothing replaces Hot Soapy Water for Disinfecting!

Looking & Feeling FAB is bringing its two-day Oncology Esthetics Certification Training to Louisiana on November 1–2, 2026.

This hands-on training is designed to help esthetics professionals build confidence, compassion, and practical skill in serving clients affected by cancer treatment.

The training includes oncology-safe, evidence-based education and certification. A portion of tuition also supports services for cancer patients through Looking & Feeling FAB.
