it's November again, which means he would've been 19 years old. I decided to paint my childhood dog as a surprise for my mom, the only person who, I always joke, was the only person Broot truly loved- he just tolerated the rest of us. When he passed away a couple years ago it was truly like losing a part of the family.

After seeing how much joy this painting brought myself and others, I knew we wouldn't be the only ones, which is why I've decided to open a limited number of spots per month for pet portrait commissions starting January 2026! 👏🏼 more details to come!

I've been a painter since I was 14 years old, self taught. For this painting I used gouache paints on cold-pressed watercolor paper. I cut out all of the elements and then collaged them onto a fresh piece. All handpainted, yes including Broot himself. This is in an 8x10" frame. I'm so excited to start offering these special, custom pieces! 💖
