I wanted to share some exciting research that could help treat pancreatic cancer. A 2025 study shows a new way to use berberine to fight cancer cells more effectively.

What the study is about:​

The researchers created fat particles containing berberine and then added them to pancreatic cancer cells. They measured the number of cancer cells that died and tested whether cancer cells treated with berberine could still spread.

What they discovered:

Cancer cells died more quickly when treated with the berberine.

The treated cancer cells couldn't spread as easily.

The berberine worked by blocking a protein that cancer cells need to survive.

Why this matters:​

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers and could become the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the US by 2030.

Current treatments don't work very well and have many side effects.

This research shows a promising new approach that might work better and cause fewer problems for patients.

Obviously, this is early data, so we cannot make any claims as of yet, but it's great progress, and this is why we do the research.
