It ain’t hard…I use Lightroom in the manual camera setting on my iPhone (not a necessity, just use your phone camera), pull down the exposure and set your ISO to 64. Find a window or go outside for natural light and a quick backdrop of random things or make it simple. If that seems daunting, I’m sure you have a friend who would do it for $20 or maybe free if they love you enough. Photo editing apps now all use AI but there are still non-ai tools such as the original healing tool (takes nearby pixels and replaces the area with them) or simple light and warmth settings.
There are amazing things AI could be used for in medical technology and probably other things I’m unaware of... but there are many times a day I have to ask “is this AI? Am I using it right now? Or is this just a computer doing what it does?” and have to admit I’ve used it a couple times when I’ve fallen into the “that could be fun to try” image generators. However now really seeing what’s happening, I promise you I will do my best to avoid it. Our overuse as a society as it replaces creativity and swallows up acres of land and drinking water is abominable. We already have countless search engines to answer our questions, why do we need more and more and more and to use our brains less and less? As an artist myself, it’s very sad to see us lose our brain power, to see others stealing from artists (inevitable when you use AI to generate images!), and to see the creative mind becoming obsolete.

As we are officially on the second half of May, we want to make sure everyone gets their spring products before they’re gone. I know it feels like spring is just starting here in NE-OH, but we are aiming for a summer release in early June meaning we will not be making anymore of our Vernal Collection this year 😱 If you are as obsessed with these scents as we are you better grab them now! Flora Blanc is a white floral with gardenia, Lily of the valley, and tuberose. Matcha & Vine is a fresh ginger with tomato vine. Anatomy of a Rose, a fan favorite, is the freshest rose scent you can possibly dream of! No hint musty dusty granny rose in site.
If you happen to drive past the back of our building today, please note the dumpster disaster is not us here at the Ash House. The dumpster is shared amongst many businesses in the building and there has been issue with the trash company & owners that is beyond any of us as tenants. The Ash House puts very little trash into that dumpster as we just don’t have as much as the bars, etc. and we take home our recycling when we can. Please know the owners & management company are aware of the situation and we are awaiting them to take care of it.

Just a lil heads up! We are open 10-4 today regular hours. Tomorrow is our Mother’s Day Brunch & Shop/3rd anniversary party and we will only be open 10-1:00.
Our food table will be in the refillery so it will be primarily closed to refills. If you are coming from far away to celebrate with us and desperately need a fill we will get it for you, but please keep refills at bay tomorrow 🙏
We HAVE secured some flowers for bouquets for tomorrow! Unfortunately the local growers we contacted were all sold out or needing to supplement with wholesale flowers because of the dang weather, so we are putting together our own bouquets of wholesale flowers instead while we wait for our own flowers to start poppin’ at the Scott homestead. We will have around 15 bouquets so first come first serve.
