Feeling so extremely grateful to have been in community with so many Jefas in the Town that I love. Thank you julydejefas for creating such an inspiring space. Watching you hold up and honor each other and the community is what it’s all about - community over competition! The love and intentionality poured into every detail of the event was felt and appreciated. Truly inspiring. I often go to these types of events alone but I never feel alone! The chingonascollective was in the building in so many ways and watching De La Creamery receive her flowers filled my heart! Gracias Jefas! Hasta la proxima 🙂‍↕️

Did you know that your hair texture can (and likely will) change through different seasons of your life? Our hair holds energy ✨ is fueled by what we consume ✨ and what we exude. This can all be “negative” or “positive”. What I find those negative/positive things usually are what we understand or what we have yet to learn.

Rosie’s hair wasn’t “acting” the way it normally did. She could tell the wave pattern was different but didn’t know what to do. She let me know what was going on, how she felt, what she wanted and we booked a haircut appointment. A hair mask, haircut, some styling and a lot of hair talk later - she has a better understanding of the tools needed to enhance the hair she has instead of fighting it to look how it did before. I must say, I am feeling the wavy era! 🙂‍↕️

The inaugural Q***r Latine Pride Block Party was the breath of fresh air I didn’t know I needed. It was an honor to be in community to celebrate pride and culture. Vee | Hair Stylist & Community Builder & B&B ❤️‍🔥 did an amazing job creating a safe space and keeping it lit!

Our braiding station was 100% volunteer powered and donation based. We continue to partner with the community to support families of Oakland students impacted by ICE. In honor and celebration of Pride Month, the Oakland Q***r Latine Block Party braiding station fundraiser will directly benefit a family who is part of the q***r community in Oakland.

Gratitude to Vee | Hair Stylist & Community Builder for providing the space to create and ALICEA ✧･ﾟCosmetology Student ✧･ﾟ for volunteering your time and talent. I’m excited to run it back June 12, 2027! Will you be there?!
