After weeks of ignoring EVERY SINGLE WARNING Haunted Harbor gave us...
today we're apparently taking it home. 😂💀🌊

One pumpkin witch.
Listen... if you're a Halloween person, you already understand.
There are certain decorations that stop you in your tracks.
The kind you think about during dinner.
The kind you look up online three times before bed.
The kind that suddenly has you calculating gas mileage and convincing yourself a road trip is a perfectly reasonable life choice.
Oregon doesn't have At Home stores.
Washington does.
The rest is history. 😭
No regrets.
Would absolutely do it again.

The last few months have been a blur.
Perfect Storm launched.
The studio has been changing. The workshop has been evolving.
I've been spending a lot of time thinking about what the next chapter of Devinah looks like after ten years.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, I completely forgot to post this look.
Looking back at these photos reminded me how much I miss this part of the creative process.
Sitting down with a handful of shadows.
Experimenting. Building a color story.
Creating something just because it feels beautiful.
Not for a launch, not for a deadline, not for a project.
Just for the joy of creating.
The good news?
I'm finally getting back behind the camera.
More photos. More looks. More YouTube videos. More creativity.
And honestly, I can't wait ✨

One weekend project turned into this. 🖤
It's funny how you never really notice the progress while you're living it.
You build the block wall.
You build the pillars.
You paint them black.
You plant grass seed.
You water it.
You wait.
You add fencing.
Then one day you look at a before-and-after video and realize all those little projects have quietly transformed the entire space.
Every part of this was built by us.
Not all at once.
Not overnight.
Just one weekend project after another.
I think that's my favorite thing about home projects.
You don't build a dream yard in a day.
You build it one Saturday at a time.
And slowly the vision you've been carrying around in your head starts becoming something real.
Honestly, seeing these two clips side by side makes me even more excited to see what it looks like by Halloween. 🎃
What project have you been slowly building that's finally starting to look the way you imagined?
This isn't Halloween night.
This is a random October weekend. 🖤🏚️
Every year we start decorating at the end of August and keep building through September.
And every year, sometime around early October, something magical starts happening.
Cars slow down. Families stop.
People walk too view the cemetery.
Kids point at their favorite props.
Neighbors bring their friends.
And suddenly our little spooky black house becomes a weekend destination.
Honestly, I don't think I'll ever get used to it.
When we started decorating years ago, I never imagined hundreds of people would make it part of their fall tradition.
But now, every weekend leading up to Halloween, we get to watch people create memories together right in front of our house.
That's the part that gets me.
Not the lights. Not the fog. Not even the decorations.
The memories.
And every year, it somehow feels just as magical as the first time.
Now excuse me while I continue counting down the days until decorating season starts again 🎃
Do you have a Halloween tradition you look forward to every year?
We seeded the front lawn and I am way too emotionally invested in this 1k+ sq ft patch of green.
A few weeks ago it was mostly dirt.
We renovated our lawn.
Built a block fence.
Added 24 yards of new top soil and sandy loam.
Now it's starting to come in and honestly, it makes me ridiculously happy.
The black house is slowly becoming the place I always imagined.
One project at a time. 🌱🖤🏚️
..and yes, if I was the president I'd also paint the white house black!!!

Some looks feel like a bruise you’re still touching… not to check the pain, but to remind yourself you’re still here.
There’s a blood-stained warmth in the crease, a worn-in bruise around the edges, and that cold little flash from Ice Kissed that keeps the whole thing breathing.
I used Grunge as the heartbeat of it… pressed over the lid, pulled up into Lucretia, then dragged along the lower lash the way tired love settles under your eyes.
It’s quiet. It’s heavy. But it’s still reaching for something warm… even if it knows better.

Starting February with a look that feels gentle on the surface but cuts a little deeper once you stare at it long enough. 🖤🌹

I wanted a soft but deadly mood… something that sits right between romance and ruin. Grunge all over the lid, smoked up into Lucretia, then dragged under the lower lash for that tired but powerful kind of stare I love.

Ice Phantom on the inner lower lash gave just enough glow to keep it alive… like a spark under the ashes.
