Your hair has a baseline.

And sometimes the routine that worked before simply doesn’t fit what your hair needs now.

Your body changes.
Your routine changes.
Your environment changes.
Your capacity changes.
Your hair practices change.

Your hair may change with them.

Before reaching for another product, another routine, or another solution, start by paying attention.

What are you seeing?
What are you currently doing?
What has changed?
What does your hair need now?

That’s your baseline.

Because healthy hair care doesn’t begin with an assumption.
It begins with awareness.

Healthy hair begins with stewardship and is sustained through practice.

Your hair does not change in isolation.

Your body changes. Your schedule changes. Your stress changes. Your routines change. And sometimes, your hair is simply reflecting what has shifted around it.

Before you try to correct what you see, pause long enough to understand where you are.

A baseline is not a judgment. It is a point of reference.

What has changed in your hair, body, routine, or lifestyle in the last 90 days?

Start there.
HER. BASELINE — coming soon.

Healthy hair begins with stewardship and is sustained through practice.

This is where the conversation begins. 🌹

BECOMING HER.
An Intimate Conversation Series

Conversation 01: Alignment in Hair + Identity

For years, hair has given me a point of access into the lives of women.

And what I’ve learned is that hair is rarely just hair.

Hair can hold identity. Expression. Memory. Transition.

The ways we’ve learned to care for ourselves — and sometimes, the ways we’ve become disconnected from ourselves.

Hair is not the whole woman. But it can give us a tangible place to begin.

A place to notice.
A place to ask what has changed.
A place to explore whether the ways we are caring for ourselves still align with the women we are becoming.

On October 17, I’m inviting you into the room with me.

I’ll be joined in conversation by licensed therapist Yolonda Morgan, LMSW, Just Say Okay Podcast as we explore alignment through hair, identity, emotional wellbeing, self-awareness, and the everyday practices that shape our relationship with ourselves.

Not from a place of having it all figured out.

In real time.

Because becoming isn’t a destination.
It’s a practice.

Come as you are.
Leave with something to practice.

BECOMING HER.
A Practice. A Lifestyle. A Return to You.

You might not have a hair problem. You might have an alignment problem.

We change. Our lives change. But sometimes our hair routine doesn’t.

We hold on to what’s familiar, even when it no longer fits.

This is your permission to realign.

Your hair should fit your life NOW. Not the woman you were 2 years ago, 2 jobs ago, 2 seasons ago.

What does your routine need to look like for this version of you?

Let’s talk about it in the comments💗

Convenience isn’t the problem. Assuming convenience is care can be.

We often choose styles because they require less of us—less time, less manipulation, less daily maintenance.

And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.

But “put away” doesn’t automatically mean protected.

The question is whether what’s convenient for your life is also appropriate for the current condition of your hair.

Because if what saves you time today leaves you repairing breakage, cutting back length, or rebuilding progress tomorrow…

was it really convenient?

Healthy hair isn’t about avoiding protective styles. It’s about becoming more intentional about how, when, and why we use them.

Convenience should support the practice.

Not replace it.

Healthy hair is built through consistent practice, not only through what happens during an appointment.

A System. A Practice. A Return to You.

Unpopular opinion:

Some of the biggest setbacks I see aren’t caused by protective styles.

They’re caused by what happens before, during, and after them.

Because a style can protect your hair…

Or hide what’s happening underneath it.

And most people don’t know the difference until the takedown.

Save this for the next time someone tells you a style alone will grow your hair.

A protective style should do more than look good.

It should protect, even beyond your special day.

The style is temporary.

But having healthy hair is self-love made visible.

That’s HER. 🤍
