Protecting your skin barrier is imperative to achieving and maintaining healthy, beautiful skin. Sometimes we confuse tight skin with ‘clean’ skin and it’s simply not true. Our Cleansing routine should leave our skin feeling clean yes but it should feel balanced supple and fresh not tight and irritated. Skincare is just that, caring for our skin with nourishment and replenishment not aggressively cleansing and exfoliating. Skin responds to care not punishment. We can be assertive but not harsh. For most clients honestly, it can be as simple as switching out a product or two, or adjusting your routine slightly or starting one! Sometimes we can get caught up thinking that tight u comfortable feeling means a ‘thorough cleaning’ and that’s just not true. Cleansers shouldn’t ever make your skin feel dry or irritated. Our skincare routine using products for our individual skin is supposed to nourish, heal and renew our skin NOT punish it with aggressive ingredients and exfoliators.
