Anyone else experiencing extra challenges with breakouts on your chin these days?
While it’s essential to wear face masks to protect ourselves and others, they aren’t always the best for our skin. Especially if you already struggle with acne on your chin.
Face masks can create humidity that leads to increased oil production -- not to mention trapping dirt and sweat against your skin. Yuck! 😝
So, what can you do to address congestion and break-outs? Make sure you’re practicing good mask hygiene:
* Purchase multiple masks, so you can use a clean one each time you leave home. And, wash them regularly.
* Cleanse your face both before and after wearing your mask.
* Skip the make-up if possible.
Still experiencing issues? Acne on your chin could be caused by hormonal imbalances. Try some of these natural ways to balance your hormones:
* Exercise for 30-40 minutes daily to stabilize hormones.
* Manage stress by doing yoga, tai chi or meditation.
* Get enough sleep each night.
* Add omega-3 rich foods to your diet, like salmon, walnuts and flax seeds.
* Consider cutting back on caffeine, which can disrupt hormones in some women.
* Maintain a healthy weight.
I’m here to help you with healing your skin. Feel free to schedule an online skin care consultation with me (link is in my bio) if you could use a little extra support with a home routine that will set you up for success.

Happy Memorial Day! Hope you’re all able to enjoy the outdoors today and soak up a bit of sunny Vitamin D. Just don’t forget the SPF.
Need a reminder why sunscreen is so important? In honor of Skin Cancer Prevention month, let me share the ways:
☀️ 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer
☀️ More than 2 people in the U.S. die of skin cancer every hour
☀️ 90% of skin aging is caused by the sun
☀️ People who use SPF15+ daily show 24% less skin aging than those who don’t
So, let’s keep our skin healthy by slathering on the sunscreen every day. Especially when you head out in the sun this summer.
What did you do to celebrate the unofficial start to summer this weekend?

Exfoliation is one of the many benefits of a professional facial treatment. In the studio, I use a variety of enzymes or peels to help you experience more radiant skin.
Until the studio re-opens, though, you can help your skin with at-home exfoliating serums and scrubs. And, no, I’m not talking about those harsh scrubs you may have used when you were a teenager! Here are some of the types of products I recommend for at-home exfoliation:
🔸Mandelic serums or cleansers: Good for most skin types, especially for anti-aging and acne concerns
🔸Salicylic serums: Can be good for acne-prone skin
🔸Buffing grains cleanser: Good for most skin types and provides gentle exfoliation
If you’re not already using an exfoliating cleanser or serum in your at-home regimen, let me know. We can set up a call to talk about your skin care needs, so I can recommend the right exfoliating product for you.

Did you find our last post on face mapping interesting? Today, we’re digging deeper into what acne on your forehead may be telling you and steps you can take to heal it.
If you get acne on your forehead, this could be a sign that your digestive system is struggling. To clear up acne here, you need to focus on dietary changes. Here are some tips to get you started:
* Drink more water to help flush waste out of your system
* Try eliminating foods like wheat and dairy that may cause sensitivities
* Eat probiotic-rich foods to support good gut bacteria
* Stay away from fast & processed foods
* Cut back on sugar
* Take it easy on drinking wine, beer and cocktails
* Get 7-8 hours of sleep each night
If you want more help, let me know! I’m more than happy to do an online consultation with you, so we can develop a customized plan for getting you the healthy, radiant skin you deserve.
