Melasma treatment isn’t always linear — and sometimes progress looks a little darker before it looks lighter. 👀

This is my patient after just ONE VI Peel Precision Plus + Peptides treatment.

Notice how some of her pigmentation is actually more visible in the after? That isn’t necessarily a bad thing. With melasma, our goal isn’t to aggressively chase pigment in one treatment. We’re working strategically through a series of treatments to encourage cellular turnover, gradually shed pigment containing cells, and create a more even complexion over time.

As that process happens, areas of pigmentation can temporarily look darker or more defined before they begin to fade.

And this is exactly why I build customized treatment plans instead of promising a “one treatment fix.” Melasma is complex, chronic, and heavily influenced by things like UV exposure, visible light, heat, hormones, and inflammation. Treating it requires patience, consistency, proper home care, and a long term plan.
