Between it snowing today and this hair… I have the chills. ❄️✨ Love me an icy blonde. Also, I only see this girl about 2x a year. Her hair grows out so beautifully.

This is our second k-tip installation together. This time we added some caramel pieces. 🖤 She brings me some seriously nice bulk hair from the Philippines (FR I’m trying to find my own supplier now.) and I turn all 200 grams of it into individual k-tips for her. I customize the sizes so that each individual strand of hair gets just the right amount of hair on it. For example, hair around the hairline always gets smaller bonds. There is so much to it but I absolutely love doing them. 😍 My OCD loves it. Also, because she came in for regular maintenance as recommended we were able to get 4 months out of a single set. Her scalp stayed healthy and her hair actually grew! Pretty soon she won’t even need extensions anymore. 🥹

I cannot stress the importance of having a shower filter if you are super super blonde. Why? Because when your hair is very porous meaning it has been processed a lot, there are more holes in the hair and therefore it soaks everything it comes into contact with up like a sponge. When hair that is porous soaks up hard water or even sometimes softened water that still has trace minerals in it the hair becomes very yellow and brittle. Also, when the hair gets this mineral and metal build up it becomes more reactive with our lightener. Increasing the chances of breakage during your appointments.

I recommend getting a shower filter and using a clarifying shampoo 1x a month followed by a purple shampoo and then deep conditioning masque. This will keep your hair healthy and bright. 🖤

Blending Gray with highlights✨ My friend here hadn’t had her hair done in over a year. She was thinking about growing out her natural salt and pepper buuuuut then she decided she wasn’t ready for that look just yet. So, I added some lowlights because we needed to soften the line of demarcation between the 2 very different colors in her hair going on. Then added some highlights to blend her “salt” and we toned with a beige blonde. Oh, and I added some tip outs to brighten up the ends left out. Because they were orange. 😐🍊 No permanent color was used at all because we don’t want to see each other every 6-8 weeks. We wanted to keep it on the lower maintenance side.

Looks so much better now and we are super happy. :)

People ask me if I ever do my own hair at home. The answer is… I have and it has not worked out for me. My hair is too dark and the risk of overlapping the lightener on my already blonde pieces because I can’t see the back of my head is too high. Lol

But, I have done it! 😬🫣 ANYWAYS, I say that to also say that I don’t judge. We’ve all tried to do our own hair at home. Some people can do an excellent job! However, with lightener I don’t suggest it. Leave the blonde to the stylists. 🙏🏻♥️

This wasn’t a crazy fix. It didn’t take hours and hours of foil work. Thank the Lord. 🙌🏻 Why? Because sometimes keeping things simple is best.

“I know I’m blonde. But, I want to be REALLY blonde.”

Say no more. ✨

I love how this turned out. So soft. So ashy. So well blended. 🥹 Didn’t take me long either. About 2 hours start to finish. Sometimes it doesn’t have to be a huge appointment for impactful results.✨
