Prickly Pear Fest is coming! Another fun something to do that is totally different. And this one has so many workshops and intersting things to learn about our special ubiquitous (love that word) cacti.
We'll only be there on the Friday but it is a 2 day event.
I like to make giftworthy products that match the theme of the festival, so I will be bringing my Queen of the Desert soaps (with prickly pear images on the face of each bar), that I've been making for years and bring out for this festival.
I will also be bringing a bunch of other Prickly Pear products that will be a surprise for you when you visit my booth on Friday.
Another beautiful Saturday morning at the Downtown Growers Market.
Music, food, artisans, community.

CREAMSICLE IS BACK! 🍊
I just finished making a batch of our Creamsicle Lip Balm!
Orange and creamy vanilla come together in this yummy flavor that takes you straight back to those orange-and-vanilla frozen treats of your childhood.
And if Creamsicle isn't your thing, we have lots of other flavors to choose from.
You can check them out in our online store, or at the Downtown Growers Market this Saturday.

You just have to get to the other side of the mountain to see the sun rise. And it was cool - heaven.

The colors of the Sandias!
To beat the heat we usually hike early in the morning, but lately we've tried later in the day and it is so beautiful to see the interplay of light at sundown on the Sandias.
I snapped this one as soon as I got out of the car last night so I didn't miss it. So glad that I did cause in a couple of minutes the sun went behind a cloud and this scene was not replayed.

If you didn't make it to the Mountainair Sunflower Festival last Saturday, it was so much fun, and so many people got into the spirit of things by dressing in their sunflower outfits and hats.
And, there were sunflower inspired handmade goods everywhere.
We have a handful of Sunflower items left that we will be bringing to the Downtown Growers Market in Robinson Park this Saturday.
If you are a Sunflower Lover, and would like to grab something, stop by our booth on Central in our usual spot #134.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Took this photo at around 7.30 last night, the light from the sunset turned the mountains to pink, the Sandia Mountains.
