Utopia Hair Salon

Cathy has been doing hair for 40+ years and really knows her way around a head of hair. Utopia Hair Salon is the brain child of Cathy Perea and has been open since April 1st 1989 and has built into a cozy salon that caters to families of all types. Currently hosting three stylists, a barber and nail tech with many years of experience behind them all. At first impression, it does not seem a likely spot for a business, nestled in the North West valley of Albuquerque, it is set in an 150 year old adobe home that has been fashioned into a fabulous business. Upon entering, you feel like you are walking into Abuela's home, a bright blue door opens up to multiple rooms, each occupied by one person, or, in the main large room, Cathy shares with one other. Several couches and living room pieces are part of the charm, making you feel like part of the family right away. Appointments are the best way to make sure you get the time with the person of choice, but walk ins are welcome also. Generally open Tuesday-Thursday 9-7, Friday 9-3 and Saturday 8-3, for men, women and kids.
