Great info

"Finally!! A clean laundry detergent that WORKS! I did a load of my stinky workout clothes and my son's dirty outside play clothes and it not only got everything nice and clean, but it all smells great too! The laundry room even smells great. I got the citrus scent and it really smells so good. I am ecstatic right now because this was one of the last items I truly needed to switch to all natural in our house. As you can see in the pictures, it even took out the gross coffee stain in my tank top without having to pretreat it."

📢 Parent News Update to all my pregnant and new mamas:

Dreft scores an ‘F’ on the EWG Guide to Clean Living. ‘F’ as in the lowest score you could get in school (A to F). And, it’s based on a few reasons (see pics).

Not convinced? Just hop over to Google and type “Dreft EWG” and click the first link. You’ll be directed to the EWG’s (Environmental Working Group) website where you can explore why it receives such a poor rating. (Hint: you can also check other laundry detergents this way.)

Yes, a laundry detergent made specifically for babies scores an F on human safety. 🤦🏻‍♀️😭

How can this be?! Because the FDA doesn’t regulate or inspect personal care products (or their ingredients) for safety in America i.e. they also have no authority to pull them off shelves if there are adverse reactions. 🗣A $65 billion industry with little to no regulation.🥴

Personal care products, like laundry detergent, fall under the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act which hasn’t been largely updated, since 1938. And, there have been 85,000 chemicals introduced to the marketplace since WWII.🤬 The worst offender: ‘fragrance.’ It’s an umbrella term for hundreds of other chemicals and an industry trade secret meaning they don’t have to tell us what makes up their ‘fragrance’ formula. Don’t take my word for it: Be your own advocate!

Good news: There are many other non-toxic, clean, safer & affordable laundry detergents to choose from that are just as good at getting out the poop and puke, but without the short term (aka rash) and long-term side effects.

It’s really that easy. I wish someone had told me when I was pregnant , so now I’m passing along to you.

How useful is Calendula?

This radiant plant loves lots of sunshine, and once it’s fully grown it needs little water. Harvest the plant’s abundant blooms throughout the seasons to keep the plant continuously producing.

Medicinal Benefits:

Calendula is the ultimate herbal ally for the skin. As a soothing anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial herb with a knack for easing lymphatic stagnation, calendula shines as a topical application for acne, eczema, sunburn, bug bites, and cuts.

What to Make with Calendula:

For topical applications you can use dried calendula flowers to make infused oils, salves, liniments, and lotions. I also love adding the fresh flowers to my salads for a little whimsy and their zesty taste.

When Pills are the Only Answer for Mental Health... Consider the Gut-Brain Connection!

Especially with the ramifications of the pandemic, American adults are reporting increased negative impacts on their mental health and well-being (difficulty sleeping and eating, increased alcohol consumption or substance use, and worsening chronic conditions).

If you've ever struggled with anxiety, then you know there is a long list of medications that are commonly prescribed to combat the symptoms. Once you're on those pharmaceuticals, it's extremely difficult to get back off of them. And...they can cause pretty serious side effects.

The science behind the Gut-Brain Connection is fascinating. The brain then sends distress signals to the gut, causing intestinal symptoms. On the flip side, increased toxicity and poor nutrition (think junk and stress eating!) can directly damage the gut. That then sends signals back to the brain that trigger negative mental health symptoms. The two systems are so intricately intertwined!

The result is that we then become sicker and sicker, especially for those who find themselves on medications for both mental and intestinal health issues.

But the mainstream isn't talking about the root causes, the Gut-Brain Connection, and the increasing threats to our overall health. Their messaging is continued pills...not to mention masking, shots, boosters, and social distancing‑‑ all of which have implications to both mental health and gut health.

It's time to break away from a broken system.

When the gut is struggling, it can impact functions throughout the entire body. Unusual symptoms can occur signaling that extra gut support is needed!

Why should we listen closely to the signs and symptoms? Because research shows that poor gut health is linked to a number of health concerns, including:

Anxiety and depression
Food allergies
Chemical sensitivity
ODD and behavior issues
Impaired immunity/frequent illnesses

That’s basically everything out there, so yeah— a healthy gut is really important, especially to your immune system and mental health function. The Gut-Brain Connection, for instance, is a two-way highway of signals. When the gut isn't functioning at its best, it can trigger disruptions in the brain and vice versa. Listen to your body and consider giving your gut some extra attention!

Have you ever just had a "gut feeling" about something? Ate something that just made you crabby or irritable. Turns out, after centuries of ancient practices tying mental health and gut health together, science has caught up and "proved" it!

Take a look at this study about the Gut-Brain Connection⤵️

Have you ever heard of the lymphatic system? This includes blood vessels and lymph nodes located all over the body. Their jobs are to move viral debris and toxins out of the body.

After dealing with an illness or suffering from a toxin overload your lymphatic system can become "clogged". You'll notice little swollen sore bumps in random areas of the body when this happens. This is a clogged lymph node. Rubbing some Lymphatic Cream on them can help get those fluids moving again!
