If you’ve ever cut layers into tighter coils and suddenly the shape looks smaller, narrower, or like all the fullness disappeared… this might be why. 👀

A lot of stylists are trained to remove weight the same way across every curl type but coils don’t always respond the way looser curls do. Sometimes too much layering can collapse the width and shrink the silhouette instead of enhancing it.

One thing that completely changed the game for me was shifting HOW I create movement while still protecting fullness + shape. My clients keep their volume, their curls still feel layered, and the overall shape stays balanced instead of overly tapered.
