As someone who loves making you feel fabulous, I just want to share that many of us in the industry —whether hairstylists, nail techs, or other artists—depend on each appointment. That means when there’s a last-minute cancellation or a no-show, it can really impact our small business more than you might think.

It’s time for our annual St. Nick Sock Drive! We’ve been doing this for 6 years, and in that time we’ve collected approximately 6700 pairs of socks. Holy crap!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this, it’s inspired by the example of St. Nicholas whose feast day is on December 6th. He was a bishop who lived in the 4th century who was a very kind man and had a reputation for helping the poor and giving secret gifts to people. Based on a story from his life, a custom began of hanging stockings up on the eve of St. Nick’s feast day in the hope he might leave a gift.

We decided to put a little spin on this tradition. Now through December 6th, we are accepting donations of new socks. All sizes are needed - men’s, women’s and children’s. The socks will be distributed to those in need by the Sisters of Divine Providence in Melbourne.

A simple pair of socks. A small act of kindness. Warm feet for someone who is struggling. Together we can make a difference!
