Cheap Tox vs. Tox Done Right 💉

I think it’s important to make a distinction between cheap tox and tox done correctly.

I see ads throughout Chicagoland constantly promoting extremely low prices for Botox and filler while simultaneously claiming to be reputable, high-quality practices. As a medical professional, that should make you pause.

When it comes to injectables, price should never be your only consideration. There are many factors that can affect the outcome of your treatment, including the product being used, proper storage and handling, appropriate dosing, injection technique, anatomy, and the qualifications and experience of the person performing the procedure.

There are also products circulating through unauthorized or illegal channels. As a consumer, you have every right to ask: What product are you using? Where did it come from? Who is injecting me? What are their credentials?

And most importantly—Botox and filler are medical procedures.

You wouldn’t choose a surgeon based solely on who offered the cheapest surgical procedure. Your face deserves that same level of consideration.

Do your homework on your injector. Look at their credentials. Ask about their training and experience. Look at their actual work. A reputable injector should be willing to educate you about the products and procedures they perform and should have a portfolio of their work.

Illinois has specific requirements regarding who may own and operate medical practices and who may perform medical procedures. Consumers should understand those requirements and make sure they are receiving care from appropriately licensed professionals.

Med spas are businesses, but at the end of the day, medical aesthetics is healthcare.

So before you choose the $7/unit special or the cheapest filler deal you can find, ask yourself:

Who is injecting me?
What exactly am I being injected with?
Where did the product come from?
What are their credentials?
And can I see their work?

I personally wouldn’t buy sushi from a gas station just because it was cheaper. 😂
