They say, create what you want to see in the world, and where there’s a will, there’s a way!

I wanted to see more clean beauty products from Black and other people of color on store shelves. In 2017, I created a vision for a multicultural space that amplified and centered Clean Indie Beauty/wellness by and for Black and other people of color. I focused on indie brands formulating products with simple yet efficacious ingredients. However, the bigger picture for me was that the biggest spenders (Black women) were being marketed the most toxicant-laden beauty and wellness products.

So in 2018, I took my will and found a way to launch what I’d envisioned; Inside Outer Beauty Market (Where Beauty Runs Deep), a safe omnichannel space that recognized, valued, and amplified the differences and uniqueness of our health and wellness needs. And also recognized and amplified the marginalized indie brands of the business. It’s been nothing short of a tremendous accomplishment and journey, with high highs and low lows. Yeah. It seriously felt like a stock market ride!

That said, IOBM has come to the end of its journey. Thank you to everyone who believed in me and the mission of IOBM. To every customer, brand partner, employee, freelancer, media outlet, grantor, and cheerleader, Thank you from the depths of my heart. I extend my deepest gratitude.

Of course, I’m saddened by the closure, but I’m also super blessed and grateful to have connected to and touched so many lives, created so many beautiful memories, and learned countless lessons.
