DE (Double-Ended) Braid-In – Fold-Over Base

Gives density fast; great for volume.
1. Section into squares.
2. Place the DE: Fold the DE at its midpoint over the natural section so one dread leg falls to each side.
3. Split the section in two, one half per dread leg.
4. Braid down using the halves braided around each dread leg (you’re essentially making two braids that travel together).
5. Secure ends with small elastics.
6. Optional crochet at base for a neat start.

Tip: Around edges, choose lighter/smaller DEs or switch to SEs to reduce pull.
