The number one cause of damage I see as a stylist is not color/lightener damage … It’s heat damage 🔥 Here’s how you can avoid damaging and losing your hair with hot tools 1. Turn your heat gauge wayyy down I usually heat style at 320 more than that is overkill your hair does not need to bake at 425 for 20 minutes 2. USE A HEAT PROTECTANT!!! Heat protection is non negotiable my fave is IGK good behavior (linked in my shop highlight) 3. Throw out your revlon brush or only use it on hair that is 95% dry already. This brush can be helpful but it is the most damaging tool to exist on the market right now. You wouldn’t put a flatiron to your soaking wet hair right?? Well when you use a blowdry brush on soaking wet hair that’s basically what you’re doing. 4. Only use heat once between washes even if you’re using a heat protectant. 5. Don’t use dry shampoo before heat styling 6. Opt for heat less styles when possible - Damaged hair Heartless curls Hairstylist Healthy hair Florida hairstylist Largo Clearwater St.pete 10/31/2023
