I want to start this post by saying, I'm not trying to tear anyone down, this is purely an educational post. A client of ours came by the shop today for a professional outlook on a piercing they got from another shop. They stated that they were concerned about the overall health of their piercing, and that the orignal piercer has been unreachable. The client had requested an industrial piercing, which the piercer did give them. However, the piercer failed to properly check the anatomy of the client. A moment of looking at this ear would have indicated that this piercing would never heal correctly. This is why professionalism, education, proper training, and transparency are important in this industry. I would also like to add that I do NOT enjoy removing jewelry for reasons that could have easily been avoided in the first place. The client, who is a teenager, was visibly shaken, in pain, and on the verge of crying. It's not as simple as putting jewelry in a hole, it's something that will affect your client's life. Thank you for reading, and again, this is not an attack at the piercer, I'm just trying to keep standards safe across all of body piercing.
