There are moments when I stop and think about how proud little me would be.

Being a hairstylist was always a dream tucked away in the back of my mind. Growing up, it wasn’t always seen as the career it is today, and there were plenty of reasons to choose the “safe” path instead. But something inside me never let go of that dream.

At 23 years old, I get to wake up every day and do something that truly fuels my soul. I took the leap, left the comfort of what I knew, accepted the financial risk, and built a business that I’m endlessly proud of. Looking back, I know that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Little me wouldn’t just be amazed that I own my own business. She’d be amazed by the drive that pushes me to become a better stylist, business owner, wife, and person every single day. She’d be amazed by the incredible women who trust me with their hair, the relationships I’ve built behind the chair, and the opportunity I have to help women feel beautiful, confident, and like the very best version of themselves.

This year has been one of the biggest chapters of my life. I married my best friend, and I’m so thankful to have a husband who believes in me, supports every dream I chase, and reminds me that I can do hard things.

If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: Chase the dream. The worst that can happen is someone tells you no—but you’ll never know what you’re capable of if you don’t try.
