Pro Tip from a Stylist of almost 20 years: Your hair isn’t dry… it might just be overwashed. If your ends feel crunchy, your color fades fast, or your scalp gets oily the day after washing, the answer usually isn’t more shampoo. It’s using the right amount and focusing it where it belongs…your scalp.

Healthy hair starts at the scalp. The length is just along for the ride.

Friendly reminder from a recovering people pleaser:
You don’t have to attend every event, join every committee, answer every text, or fix every problem.
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can say is, ā€œYeah… no, I don’t think so.ā€

Lately I’ve been thinking about how much I’ve changed over the last few years. Not in some dramatic ā€œfound myself on a mountaintopā€ kind of way. More like getting knocked around by life a little, learning some hard lessons, taking a good look in the mirror, and realizing I still have plenty of things I’m working on.

I know a lot of people originally followed me for hair, and trust me, that’s not going anywhere. I still love what I do. But if you’ve been here for a while, you know this page has become a lot more than blondes, extensions, and before-and-afters. This little corner of the internet is kind of a peek behind the curtain. Sometimes it’s hair. Sometimes it’s business. Sometimes it’s family, therapy, burnout, relationships, hormones, life lessons, or me oversharing a random thought from the pool while trying to solve the world’s problems. 🤣

The truth is, I’m not interested in pretending I’ve got it all figured out.

The last year especially has humbled me in a lot of ways. Burnout snuck in when I wasn’t paying attention. I’ve had to navigate some personal stuff, some health and hormone challenges, and I’ve had moments where I didn’t feel much like myself. But here’s what I keep coming back to…Life isn’t about avoiding hard seasons. It’s about learning how to walk through them without losing yourself. I’m learning to protect my peace a little better. To stop carrying things that aren’t mine.
To focus on what’s going right instead of what’s going wrong. To laugh more. To take myself a little less seriously.

And most importantly, to keep showing up as myself…even when it’s messy. So if you’ve been following along for the hair, the business, the chaos, the life updates, the questionable humor, or just because you’re curious what I’ll say next… thank you.

I appreciate you more than you know.

I’m still growing. Still learning. Still figuring things out as I go. Hopefully you’ll stick around for the ride!

Your extensions are expensive. Reading the back of the sunscreen bottle is free. 😘 Tiny summer reminder: if you’re blonde or wear extensions, check those SPF ingredients before you head to the pool. Future-you (and your wallet) will thank you.
