🇺🇸 Women Veterans Day – A Personal Message 🇺🇸

Today, on Women Veterans Day, I want to take a moment to personally recognize and thank the women who have served our nation in uniform.

Throughout my military career, I had the privilege of serving alongside remarkable women whose dedication, professionalism, and commitment to mission were second to none. They stood watch, led Soldiers, cared for their fellow service members, and willingly accepted the same oath to support and defend our Constitution. Their contributions have strengthened our Armed Forces and our nation.

Too often, the service and sacrifices of women Veterans have not received the recognition they deserve. Today is an opportunity to change that. We honor not only their military accomplishments, but also the challenges they overcame and the example they continue to set for future generations.

To every woman Veteran in our American Legion Family, our community, and across this great nation: thank you. Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to something greater than yourself.

At Eastern Shore American Legion Post 199, we are proud to stand beside you and to celebrate your service today and every day.

Please join me in recognizing the women Veterans in your life. Take a moment to thank them, listen to their stories, and honor the legacy they have helped build.

Why It’s “Women Veterans Recognition Day” – Not “Women Veterans Day”

On June 12th, we celebrate women Veterans and honor their incredible contributions, but it’s important to recognize the true meaning of the date and its official name.

June 12, 1948 marked a turning point in history: The signing of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act granted women the right to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. Armed Forces. That’s why we honor Women Veterans Recognition Day.

Today, and every day, let’s celebrate service, remember history, and continue to uplift stories.

I am completely booked until the New Year! My advice for 2026 is: book sooner rather than later! 🤪 I am thankful for all of my clients. If you are wanting to get on my table, please book in advance. I fill up quickly and it is hard to book on the spot/same day appointments. My typical wait time is 1-2 months. So don’t wait! 🙏
