This salon is a memory reel of so many small moments. Conversations, tears and hugs, laughter, meetings taken by zoom at the table, trying to fit it all in while also taking moments to breathe.
This place hosts meetings, and gatherings and shares info. It’s meeting a new friend while sitting In our couches and chairs. It’s bringing and taking a new book to read. It’s the reminder that we all have sooo much more in common than we realize. It’s seeing old friends and neighbors and hearing those words “oh you come here too?!”

It’s the honor of watching a group of women who one by one created this team, share in all of that with each of you.

It’s the highlights, it’s the retouches, the haircuts and layers and blow outs and big changes and small ones. It’s recreating or refreshing, finding anew or updating what is already so beautifully there.

It’s the giving you all help me do, it’s the countless times yall have chipped in and helped Laurel House residents get whatever they’ve needed. It’s the jumping in to help those you’ll likely never get to meet. It’s the helping make that part of my biggest dreams come true.

It feels lackluster sometimes to say Thank You, because it never seems like enough. However, for this past year and all the 6 prior to it, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Each of you gives this place a heartbeat, and I wake each day knowing how very lucky I am to witness it all.

28 North Main is suited and booted for the holidays. Special thanks to for our windows. That Santa may become a staple. And for the most perfect greenery.
So grateful for the brilliant makers of this community. This place wouldn’t be the same with out y’all!

“I think I’d like to transition to my natural grey color that is coming in”

I hear this, read this in emails, DM’s, every week. I explain that it’s a Journey. It requires patience and keeping your eye on the big picture. You have to trust that there’s a process to it, that no one’s journey is the same or takes the same amount of time.

It is one of my very favorite color transformations to get to witness in the salon. Seeing someone embrace their natural coloring is pure magic

And once you’re there… oh baby can it be so damn good!!
worked over several sessions, over about 8 months to get the majority of the dark hair color from years past, and came in with a heavy last foil to balance and brighten yesterday. Such amazing teamwork. Thank you for your trust and patience!! Now go on out there and keep shining!

Well, I suppose there’s no better way to kick off fall then this copper. Whewwww, what a stunner .
Hair:

You can F E E L when a woman has gotten her hair done. You can feel her energy, her soul, the deep feminine part of her. You can feel the light and breath back in her.
Don’t ever try and tell me that hair isn’t important, that the time spent in here isn’t sacred. I wouldn’t even be listening, because I see and feeel the magic that goes on in here every day.

Gah this team. They fill me with so much joy and pride and awe… there are hardly words for it.
