Davines' general washing recommendations:

Fine/thin hair: every 1–2 days, especially if the scalp gets oily or the hair falls flat.

Normal/thicker hair: generally 2–3 times a week or every few days.

Thick, curly/coily or textured hair: can often go 5–7 days between washes because it tends to show oil less quickly and is more susceptible to over-cleansing.
If you exercise heavily, sweat, use lots of products, or have an oily scalp: washing more frequently can absolutely be appropriate.
