LONG LIVE BLOODY MARY’S BARBERS

After 28 years, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to retire from taking clients.

I always imagined I’d make it to at least 30 years, so saying “28” feels, well... meh.... This career has been an enormous part of my life—my identity, even.

I raised my children in the shop. Marko spent much of his early childhood at my side or in the break room, surrounded by clippers, shop conversations, long days, crazy clients, incredible clients, and all the chaos that comes with this industry.

And somehow, that little boy grew up to become an incredible barber himself.

Bloody Mary’s became the culmination of everything I loved about this industry: a little irreverent, a little unconventional, serious as hell about traditional barbering and a collection of amazingly talented and kind people behind our chairs.

I do plan to be back from time to time, supporting these incredible barbers, fixing things, noticing the 47 things nobody else noticed, and sticking my nose into things because, well…it’s still my house.

To everyone who sat in my chair, worked beside me, referred a friend, trusted me with your hair, told me your secrets, made me laugh, pi**ed me off, or simply kept showing up:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You weren’t just part of my career. You were part of my family’s story.

When all is quiet and everyone is gone for the day……it’s just you and me again, if only for a moment 🥹❤️. My home, my heart , my sacred space. My shop ❤️💈

Today was officially Nate’s last day before he leaves for Hawaii for a year 🤞🏽. I already miss his calming energy and his big bright smile, but most of all my dear friend . We send him off right Monday evening the 1st of May, with a little party. We will be closing early at 6pm.

A non Hair related PSA. Chris and I just adopted this little guy from they are doing something so amazing in Texas. If you weren’t aware Huston Tx has the worst abandoned dog crisis in the country. I wasn’t really looking but when I read about them and then looked at all the sweet souls looking for homes I came across this little guy. GUESS WHAT THEY NAMED HIM🥹😂 Dominic…… well it was a done deal. Welcome to the familia Dominic II ! If you are looking for a furbaby and have exhausted the local recourses this organization is amazing. They transport to to Canada through UT, ID ,OR and WA. They have the coolest rig making the long journey to make families and furbabies whole. WARNING ⚠️. Your heart will melt !!!! . 🐶✂️

Nate is heading to Hawaii for a year to have new adventures 🥲 I am so excited for him but also heartbroken 💔 It will be a long year without my friend. His last day is April 28th and he better return this time next year or I will just go out there and drag him back !!!! We love you Nate!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️barbers
