Have you thought about booking a Brazilian but you don't know where to start? Here is your guide to prepare for your first wax!

⏱️ 4 Weeks Before Your Wax:

💜 Book that appointment! Sometimes, this is the hardest step! People forget, and life gets busy. Book your appointment while it's on your mind, and put it in your calendar!

💜 Let your hair grow! For an effective wax, the hair must be 1/4" or longer! Stop any form of hair removal so your hair is at the desired length!

⏱️ 1-4 Weeks Before Your Wax:

💜 Moisturize! When the skin is moisturized, it aids in easier hair removal. I recommend using a non fragrance oil. Almond, jojoba, grapeseed, and fractionated coconut oil are all great options!

💜 Exfoliate! By exfoliating, you remove surface dead skin cells, allowing hairs to come to the surface! I recommend using a physical exfoliating glove and/or a chemical exfoliant. For chemical exfoliation, look for cleansers that have salicylic and/or glycolic acid.

💜 Switch to cotton underwear! Cotton allows the skin to breathe, helping to prevent ingrown hairs.

⏱️ The Day of Your Wax:

💜 Wear Loose Clothing! Wearing loose clothing aids in preventing irritation post-wax.

💜 Hydrate! Water intake is wonderful for your whole body, including your skin. Hair removes easier when your skin is hydrated.

💜 Avoid caffeine! Caffeine is a vasodilator, meaning it increases blood flow. The last thing we want during a wax is an increase in blood loss.

💜 If you're on your period, don't stress! Opt for a menstrual cup or tampon instead of a pad!

💜 Take a painkiller an hour before your appointment. This will help ease discomfort.

💜 Lastly, remember to breathe! Staying calm during your appointment makes it go by faster and lessens the pain!
