I wanted to take a second to update everyone. Before the accident, a new barber was going to join the shop, but with the shop being rebuilt, he has found a temporary home at Blind Tiger until Anvil is back.

We are at American Fork Steel Days!

My wife Liz is at American Fork Steel Days today and tomorrow! She has been making little crochet critters to sell and we have a few of the "World's First Drive-Thru Barbershop" shirts available on hand a long with a couple games to play as well. Come say hi!

Hey, everyone. Here's a quick little update.

I wanted to send a quick update since it's been a little bit. I had surgery on July 14th. I had my MCL and ACL repaired. It all went well and now we're on the path to recovery. There is still a lot up in the air about when the shop will be back up and running, so stay tuned for that. I don't want to give any hard dates because I don't want to have that date come and go and still not be up and running. I'm hoping by mid-August, but a lot of that has to do with insurances and you all know how that can go.

What I can tell you all is this: when the shop does open, I will have two barbers ready to start taking clients again, but I will not be back in the shop for awhile. Again, I don't have a solid timeline, but hopefully by October sometime.

IF YOU NEED A HAIRCUT OR BEARD TRIM:
I've had a lot of clients say that they'd wait until I was back in the shop, and I appreciate that, but I would rather my client's get taken care of.

Danny over at Blind Tiger Barbers has offered to take any clients that need to get in and has offered to cut them at my prices and have the proceeds come back to me. There is what's essentially a benefit drive next WEDNESDAY, JULY 16TH. This is an incredible offer and I am so grateful to him. I've had a huge outpouring of love and support from the barber community.

SHOP UPDATE:
Believe it or not, the shop damage isn't that bad. Obviously that front window/wall was completely destroyed, but by the end of that day, the building owner had a mason out there repairing it. They're waiting on a few things like a new window to finish that front wall. There was some drywall damage on the sticker wall that is getting patched up and the flooring needs to be redone. Most of the damage was done to the equipment in the shop, like the stations, the chairs, and shelves. However, one of the stations and chairs were completely undamaged. I had a guy lined up to start at the beginning of July, so I think as soon as the shop is cleared by the city for occupancy again, I'll get him going in the shop and we'll get back to servicing people.

Okay, PERSONAL UPDATE:
As some of you know, I was cutting a client when the accident happed. Unbelievably he is okay. He went to the hospital and got two stitches. Me, other hand, I have some pretty extensive knee injuries from the accident. I have completely torn MCL, ACL, and Meniscus. I'm scheduled for surgery on July 14. I have to do some stuff beforehand and hit some markers with my knee before that happens, so we're working with that.

HOW TO SUPPORT:
A lot of people have already supported me and my family and we are eternally grateful. Some are still asking what they can do. I truly am so blown away by the love and support from my clients and just random people on the internet. Obviously this is a fringe accident, but we'll get through it and I'll be cutting soon.
