Hi everyone
Unfortunately I have not heard any solid date on when hairstylists will legally be able to work again in Hawaii. My husband has just received his transition date today so sadly our time in Hawaii is coming to an end and we will be moving soon. At the moment taking into consideration the timeframe for our move and the current situation for work I am not planning on continuing to do hair here before we leave. I will be posting more products that I will be selling on here and to the local auction pages to get ready for our move.
I truly appreciate all of you for supporting me and making my time here in Hawaii wonderful.

Color correction by doing a root melt and toning 🖤 swipe to see before pics

This is a lil walk through of one of my awesome client’s hair journey.
1. Previously lightened, Virgin regrowth, and previously colored hair.
2. After one session of lightening you see 3 tones from the difference in lightening 3 different hair histories.
3. First round of blues
4. After another round of lightening and balancing the different colors then a blue on top.
5. Regrowth that was really grown out and we lightened then I put a toner just to shift the tone to be wearable until next session of lightening. Some people may not have liked this root color but we agreed in doing this because it was less time, money, and damage to move forward at our next visit which was not too long after this.
6. Another session of lightening regrowth and removing a bit of the blue.
7. Pink put over and a bit of purple coming through
There are a lot of steps here getting to one color and then another. What you want will not always be achieved in one session and when having a hair goal that needs multiple sessions you need to be open with your expectations or express to your stylist what they are so that they have an opportunity to tell you if your expectations are realistic or not for that appointment. A lot of times the first session can be just prepping the hair for the next session to get you to your goal. The goal is always to leave with hair that is wearable.

This was our second session going lighter. First 3 pics are same hair different angles of lighting and the last pic was after our first session. 🖤
Babylights Balayage and Shadow root. Using Schwarzkopf blonde me, Olaplex, and Schwarzkopf for shadow root/tone 🖤

She had some grown out blonde wanting to just blend more with her roots. So I did a full lowlight melt using Schwarzkopf’s n**e tones with Olaplex and Redken for toning along with a shadow root.
-My shadow roots usually tend to look a bit darker in a lot of pics because I am only using the natural light available and it creates more of a shadow up top 🖤

Swipe to see different lighting, before, and after I used Malibu color prep + pretoned the hair to fill the hair/mute out some red.
The goal today was to eliminate a lot of the red and do browns to keep the hair healthy but at the same time I kept in mind that the end goal is to eventually go lighter later on.
So I did a color melt by adding olaplex into the ends 🖤

Night time lighting isn’t the best but a full highlight of a million babylights later with a light shadow root and good trim on this beautiful girl here we are 🖤

Loving some warm tones
Hair can only handle so much going back and forth between dark and light. Keeping that in mind because the goal is to go for longer, healthy, and lighter hair we added lightness but made it work with the previous warm tones we had so that the hair was not going to be over processed. We could have toned it to not have any warmth but it would have made her hair look darker overall. 🖤

Waves, Straight, and Before

I wanted to share a few things with this post.
1. Lighting- 1st pic is direct sunlight, 2nd is indirect daylight, 3rd is indoor yellow lighting. Lighting is always going to affect how your color looks.
2. Going Lighter from dark natural and colored hair- I lightened her all over and as you can see it did not lift even. We had old lightened pieces that got lighter and old lowlights left in there that didn't come up as light as her natural. We were going for dimension at this appt so it worked out that her darker areas were not extremely dark in comparison to the rest of her hair. Some people are not that lucky and will need extra lightening in those areas to be able to blend.
3. Vivids are High Maintenance- Just like silver and grey colored hair. Washing with cold water, washing less often, using good shampoo/products, using colored conditioner, and using low temp on hot tools will all help with the longevity and maintain your color as best as possible. Even wearing a hat in the sun! Hair color lightens and fades in the sun. Think of when the sun lightens your natural hair color same goes for any color 🖤
