As I reflect on this past year, it’s wild to think I started off an accelerated one year BSN with a full schedule (40 hours a week) and teaching dance 2-3 times a week thinking I could breeze through nursing school at the same time. That changed in the first week 😆 PathoPharm quickly became the bane of my existence and clients were pushed weeks out from their original appointments to accommodate a part-time schedule and make room for homework, class and in-person exams. After barely skating by in the first 8 week block (thanks PathoPharm), I had a renewed sense of the need to graduate nursing school. 30 of us started and 28 of us made it through.

During one of the most challenging years, my husband, friends and family have supported me while I balanced school, work and teaching dance ☘️. I squeezed in a PMU apprentice somewhere in there, put out some of my best work, and went on a couple of trips, including the Western U.S. Oireachtas to support our team. My mom beat cancer, my dogs got pneumonia, recovered from it and my Tansy girl turned 11 🐕 I made new friends for life and had a million breakdowns Samuel had to talk me through. I officially spent most of my 37th year in nursing school—and if that’s any indication, my 38th year is about to be full of big changes too.

I recently finished my practicum on Mother Baby Unit (thanks .thao1 ) and give so much props to all the working nurses doing 12.5 hour days—you’re the real MVPs. All of my clients who are still here, thank you so much for your understanding, support and flexibility as I last minute moved your appointments ALL THE TIME. You are all so kind and my biggest supporters.

This year has been hectic, but it also taught me I’m capable of a lot more than I think, even a 3.8 gpa while balancing work and volunteering. I’m so thankful to everyone that celebrated me on Friday, my mom for hosting and my sister for all the fun and beautiful decor 🤍 Next up: I need to pass the NCLEX, so send all your good luck and vibes my way.

Lip Blush Color Mixing ✨

Have you ever wondered how we pick your lip color for Lip Blush? 👄 In this photo, I’m picking the best colors, that when mixed, would match Marissa’s healed lip blush I did more than a year ago.

Normally, I start off with a color I know will be the base and two others that will either brighten, mute or alter the color enough to make it match the desired look. Sometimes I can mix up to 5 colors to match your favorite lipstick, gloss or photo inspiration 👄

Lip Neutralization is a little different as we are using an opposite color of the natural lip hue to get to the desired lip color. This is when we use a mix of orangey based pigments.

What are the benefits of Lip Blush? As we age, we lose the pigment on the vermillion border (edge of our lips) causing the shape to look uneven or smaller. This can be due to aging, skincare products, sun exposure and fillers. By adding color all the way to the natural lip skin, your lips can appear more perfect , youthful and larger in shape and give a beautiful all over color 🤩 What’s stopping you from getting Lip Blush??

Amazing Healed Lip Blush and Fresh Ombré Brow Touch Up ✨

This is what a beautifully healed Lip Blush Neutralization looks like at almost one year. For this client, I was able to use a bright orangey-red color to lighten the cooler tones in her lips. (Check the pinned reel at the top of my page to see them immediately after). The result after two sessions? This gorgeous natural looking pink lip 💗

It had also been almost two years since we touched up her brows, so I went a little thicker to touch up the edges and darker to make the shape last.

Having lips and brows done can bring your whole look together effortlessly and is one of my favorite things I can provide my clients with - more time for the more important stuff. What would you rather have, permanent brows, permanent lips or do you have both on your wish list??
