What a cold wet spring it’s been. Planting the garden sooo late and feeling like it’s risky considering we keep dropping into the 30s F at night. But my starts have been getting root bound and I’ve been antsy to get my hands in the dirt. 72 calendula starts planted, peonies kinda barely popping up, big flat of mint separated and planted, rhubarb always does fine. Flower bed gets attention next week.

Patrick, Cassie and I planted the high tunnel earlier this week. Didn’t take any pictures. But the 42 lavender starts looks great. I started all my seeds mid-March, inside our house under grow lights. I moved them to the greenhouse to acclimate around May 10. We still had snow a few times since then.

Boy I love working with plants. Veggies, flowers, fruits, herbs. We really take care of our soil (look how dark and rich).

The midnight sun = fast growing plants once it warms up a wee. And lookie at brand new moose calf in our driveway.

Tundra Spice is so yummy with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, lemon and orange essential oils and ground organic oats for gentle exfoliation.

Our lip balm is crafted with rich, organic plant oils, unrefined shea butter, and pure beeswax to deeply nourish and lock in moisture, not just coat your lips for a few minutes. At Alpenglow, we’re always looking for ways to reduce waste ♻️ When we slice our soap loaves, the “bar end cuts” are saved, cured for a full month to harden, and then bundled into an organza bag, a full pound for just $15.

Each bag is a surprise mix: goat milk soaps, shea butter soaps, shampoo bars, or a blend of all three in various scents. They’re unlabeled, unwrapped, and beautifully imperfect, mostly rectangles, sometimes with a little “soap ball” on top. Perfect for hands, face, and body.

Pair them with our Sisal Soap Savers, made from natural agave plant fiber. Just slip a bar (or end cut) inside for gentle exfoliation, extra suds, and longer-lasting soap. Hang to dry between uses and toss in the wash when needed.
