True story:

I am terrified of bees! I will run you over to get away from it if you are in my way.

I’m not proud of it but unfortunately I’ve instilled this fear into my children. All three of us will take off screaming for the hills if one comes around.

Have I been stung? Yes, as a child and I remember what that pain felt like. It traumatized me and I subconsciously relive it every time I see one. I’ve unintentionally passed this fear on to my children.

Today it hit me….all the hurts, fear, and trauma of our past is subconsciously and unintentionally passed on to our children if they aren’t confronted and healed.

Time heals nothing. We need to allow Jesus to heal our past BUT faith won’t fix what we refuse to face.

Pray and ask God to reveal a time you were hurt in your past, confront the lies formed when that happened and allow Him to heal you.

Truly break the generational curses on your life so you don’t unintentionally pass them on to your children. For their sake and yours ❤️

Faith without works is dead

I’ve been pondering over this for the past few days. Drug addicts and alcoholics are blessed in a sense that we are given the gift of desperation. We HAVE to change if we want to have a chance at life.

But why is that so many of us go back to the miserable life addiction brings?

We can point you to the power that changes everything (Jesus), give you all the knowledge, all the tools but unless you have a heart (mind) change you end up going back to things that are comfortable and familiar. It may only take minutes; it may take days, or it may take years but you will go back to what “feels” good.

Change is INTENTIONAL. You can gain all the information and knowledge about Jesus all you want but if you don’t apply His truths to your every day life….you are still walking around in your grave clothes. Your spirit is made alive instantly but your soul is BEING made alive.

Lazarus was instantly made alive when Jesus called him out of that tomb but he intentionally had to take off his grave clothes by accepting help from others.

INFORMATION WITHOUT APPLICATION IS SIMPLY KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT TRANSFORMATION.

A plant doesn’t grow by looking at it and knowing it’s a plant. It flowers and blooms when you cultivate the soil and water it.

In other words, Faith without works is dead.

I encourage you to take every thought captive and submit it to the obedience of Christ then you can be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
