Let’s talk about flakes + build-up on your scalp 😅😵‍💫

Our scalp can’t regulate itself when the cold weather is so back and forth, and if you’re like me this has resulted in extra dry ends, scalp buildup, and even some flakiness. Here are a few tips to fight it:

1- shower upside down! The pressure from the shower head can pack down existing buildup instead of rinsing it away (which is why your scalp feels so much cleaner after a salon wash!). Focus on the crown of your hair so you don’t disrupt your extensions!

2- Use a clarifying shampoo or scalp scrub once per week. (Yes, that means every time if you only wash once a week!) I like to put this all over just my scalp first, rinse it away, and then shampoo and condition as normal.

3- Drink water!! Scalp is skin, and the skin is the last organ in your body to benefit from water intake. You can’t overdue this one!

There are so many choices with extensions these days and which methods are the most popular seem to come and go. This beautiful girl came to me because she was disappointed in her previous extensions. They were shrinking up and breaking off after only a few months of wearing them. 😢
