I am very excited to announce I will be bringing the luxury airbrush spray tan experience to Ann Arbor!

When we moved here last year I did not think I would bring Toasted with us. And in a way I was right… Toasted was reborn into the Toasted Tan Club. I missed the art of spray tanning and the connections I made too much to stay away. So here’s a toast to new beginnings, new names, new locations, and new friendships. 🥂

One of my favorite things about being a spray tan artist is getting to hear all of your wins. Most people schedule a tan when they have an event or a vacation. I hear about graduations, weddings, bachelorette parties, date nights, tropical vacations and photo shoots. I genuinely get so excited (and maybe a little jealous about those tropical vacations) for everyone that comes into the studio and shares a little glimpse into their life. Just know you’ve got someone over here with a spray tan gun cheering you on. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I don’t like the way my body looks right now. I have been hiding in baggy clothes and dreading summer. There. I said the thing you’re not supposed to say.

Why am I telling you this? Because I have had nearly everyone I have tanned apologize for their body, and everyone who has wanted to get tanned tell me they are nervous for me to see them. I want you to know that I get it. I understand and I sympathize.

Let me reassure you that I DO NOT care what you look like, I still think you’re beautiful. Our bodies do amazing things and come in all shapes, colors and sizes. Some of us have carried babies, some of us have made it through traumatic situations, some of us have fought eating disorders and all of us have compared ourselves to the unrealistic expectations placed on an ideal image of beauty.

I am guilty of this. I will be the first to admit I have struggled with my body image for as long as I can remember. But let’s try to shift it together. Let’s celebrate what a gift our bodies are, what they have done for us, and what they can do. If there’s something you want to improve, work on it, but let’s be a little gentler on ourselves through that process. Let’s start out by loving it for where it is now.

You’re always going to be darker when you first get sprayed. This is from the cosmetic bronzers that are in the solution.

I know…I freak out when I see myself processing and think I resemble Ross from Friends when he goes to the tanning booth. It can be jarring! But….

TRUST THE PROCESS.

When you shower you will see bronzer washing off. This is normal, you’re not washing your tan off!

DHA is the ingredient in spray tan solution that darkens the pigment of your skin. It’s the color you will see once you’re done processing and you have rinsed the bronzer off.

That’s why it’s recommended to get your spray tan two days prior to an event. This ensures you’ve rinsed and showered at least once since your initial spray and will be your final result before you start to slowly fade.
