Help your dry winter skin by turning the water temp down and keeping your showers short, same goes for washing your hands and face.

Hot water can strip skin of its natural oils similar to how heated air can. If you prefer warmer water, make sure your skin doesn’t turn red. Always moisturize after washing.

Why use oil-based products?

Oil-based products nourish and restore skins natural oil production which actually helps reduce breakouts. They soothe dry winter skin and add moisture to summer skin dehydrated by the sun. Oils are an easy way to feed your skin, and are not just beneficial for people with dry complexions.

Our myrrh and frankincense infused sunflower oil is now available to improve skin tone and texture and rejuvenate your skin just in time for spring! 🌷✨🥳

Myrrh and frankincense are ancient resins that may benefit oily, mature, sensitive, damaged, dry, and acne-prone skin. We plan on formulating complexion oils and creams with this infusion to help heal wounds, treat acne, and reduce inflammation by promoting the growth of new skin cells.

These naturally astringent and antiseptic resins have been known to balance oily and dry skin, so we have been using them in our cleansers and scrubs!

Let us know if you are interested in a custom blend featuring our myrrh and frankincense oil, or if you would like to try either in an herbal cleanser customized to suit your skins needs.

What is the difference between English lavender and lavandin? Lavandin is actually a hybrid between two types of lavenders, and is grey in color in comparison. While lavandin can be used much in the same way as lavender, it contains more camphor which has antibacterial and antioxidant properties that help fight acne and UV damage.

We incorporated lavandin into a botanical cleanser/mask with rhassoul clay, beet root, and witch hazel bark. It is designed to be useful for all skin types, especially maturing and acne-prone skin.

For skin types that are acne-prone, maturing, and a little bit sensitive depending on the environment, we combined English lavender with French green clay, peppermint leaf, helichrysum flowers, and aloe vera leaf.

These are just two examples of how they could be used in an herbal cleansing mask!

The citrus peels of grapefruit, lime, lemon, and orange are rich in antioxidants that help acne and aging, with regenerating properties that promote a softer, glowing complexion. When crushed into a powder these peels exfoliate and improve skin tone by helping fade dark spots, scars, blemishes, and sun damage.

Each peel has its own unique properties that benefit skin health, with some peels working best for certain skin types or conditions. Our herbal cleansers are a blend of clays and botanicals depending on your skin care needs and desires. They are also a great addition to our adzuki bean scrub! In the second photo is a cleanser made for an individual with maturing, acne-prone, and sensitive combination skin. The ingredients are rhassoul clay, green tea and jasmine, hibiscus flower, and lemon peel.

Rejuvenating and complexion boosting, hibiscus has been one of our favorite botanicals to work with this month. We are enthusiastic to share it with you as an option in our custom products. 🌺💙

Beneficial for hair and skin health, hibiscus flowers are rich in antioxidants and naturally exfoliating acids that help congested skin, balance skin’s natural oils, and protect against environmental damages. These skin toning and smoothing properties may help fade dark spots, sun spots, age spots, and acne scars. Its naturally moisture-rich properties help hair shine and skin stay hydrated, soft, and supple while preventing dryness or dullness. Hibiscus is suitable for all skin types, even for those prone to breakouts, environmental sensitivities, and extremely dry skin.

We look forward to creating custom products such as clay masks, herbal cleansers, tinted lip balms, complexion creams, apple cider vinegar (ACV) rinses, and hair teas! How would you incorporate hibiscus into your skin or hair routine?
