Honest to s**t truth?
This is me for a busy day of appointments.
When I was salon-based, my wardrobe reflected being in a professional environment with other beauty industry personnel.
But now? I am unapologetically me, in the comfortable atmosphere I created, doing what I love. My clients feel more relaxed, my wax clients find comfort in the cozy space, and seeing many of my clients come in in sweats or even pajama bottoms, knowing they found comfort in there being no pressure to get dressed up to go out in public? Priceless.🖤

Uh-uh honey! After trying multiple brand systems, I now use one that is formulated to be inclusive on working for ALL lash types! That includes genetically curly, picket-straight, even naturally bent lashes.
I use the same system when doing brow lamination and it has come out perfect every time.

I STRUGGLED.
Yep. Regardless of how social media looked, school wasn't easy, and though I've been extremely fortunate, going solo fresh out of school SUCKS. 😅
Little to no clientele, supply costs, and studio rent eats you alive. You're also new and have no backbone when it comes to upholding policies regarding cancelations and no-shows, which really brings a girl down.
Anyone in the beauty industry will tell you, cos school doesn't teach you anything besides to pass the state board. Plus, Esthetics school is heavily facial based, which was never my primary focus. Most waxing, and all lash & brow services I offer were learned and certified through masterclasses taken once I graduated.
Not to mention, I was HEAVILY pregnant with my youngest throughout school, trying to get my hours while juggling doctors appointments, morning sickness/fatigue, and being present for my 2 other kids.
I ended up graduating only 2 weeks before having her, and took both stateboards shortly after.

None of this was easy, and very rarely fun. But God, that struggle was worth it. I landed a spot in a great salon, whose owner gave me a shot, and really pushed me to be great. I helped open another salon, which launched me further into the industry, and really taught me the schematics of management. Now here I am, where I always wanted to be, in a home Suite. Busy books, loyal clientele, a master of the services I offer with new ones always in the works.

If I could go back to my newly licensed self and tell her to keep fighting. Keep grinding, and keep building, I wouldn't. The unknown and the ability to stick to your guns, stay true to your aesthetic and personality, despite nor knowing whether it will all pay off, that alone is what I am most proud of.

I am stoked for many more years behind the treatment table.🖤

Coline has been with me since I started almost 4 years ago, fresh out of school, and on my own with no clientele.
I have gotten to be along for the ride, with long talks every 6 weeks, hearing everything from how her sweet husband drives her up a wall with his lack of OCD that she has, to the birth of her first sweet grandbaby and getting to watch him grow up through photos she shows me and stories she tells.
Little things like that mean the world to me, and I am so honored to be ever a little piece of her life!
She is one of the sweetest, most kind hearted people I've ever met.

While I am very much an a**l, over-thinker, after careful planning, most of my ex*****on is just winging it.
Why? Honestly, because I often fear or have anxiety over the unknown. A new client & how their lashes will lift. How a players spirit hair will hold up during a rough game. How a client will like their eyebrows once they are laminated.
But I do it scared. Because I am confident in my abilities and technique. Because I know, without a shadow of a doubt that I am amazing at the services I perform.
& so I do it scared.

Sometimes we can't beat fear. But don't let that be your endpoint. Make it your launching point.🤘🏻

Surface level, I'm Taylor. I'm 25 {ew}, mother of 3 perfect heathens, and married to a very handsome fireman.
On a deeper level, I love all things dark and spooky, black is my favorite, and all shades of grey & brown follow after, and I can't keep a plant alive if I wanted to.
Occult Esthetics was brought to fruition when I found my love of lashes, brows, and waxing during Esthetics school and realized I absolutely despised facials. 😅
Going on 4 years, 2 salons later, and now settled into a home-based salon, this little dream has grown into a full-time, booked out, daily grind and I couldn't be more lucky!
