Hello! If you’re seeing this and you’ve been here before, welcome back! If you’re new, WELCOME!

My name is Katlynn and I would like to introduce myself! I’m a licensed hairstylist for 11 years, located at Salt Salon in Antioch. 😁

I specialize in hand painted balayage and currently accepting new clients! I would love to meet you 🤍

I attached images of my work below ranging from a balayage refresh, adding depth back into my guests look, to a conversion from foil placement to a balayage highlight.

Please let me know if I can help you with any additional questions!

Time for another Product of the Week!

This time, we’re featuring a brand new cleansing shampoo formulated from K18.

This baby focuses on cleaning the scalp effectively, while being safe for everyday use. This shampoo has the same pH balance as your scalp, making it safe from drying out.

Pair this shampoo with K18 leave in molecular mask, and you’re on your way to healthy hair/scalp 🤍

11 days until Christmas Eve, did you get your holiday appointment scheduled?

No? Don’t worry! There are plenty of appointments available for the perfect New Years Eve outing or after the holiday family gatherings! 🤍

The beginning of July was the last time my guest was freshly painted.

In between appointments, my guest came in for a toner refresh and haircut cleanups.

One thing to notice is her outgrowth pattern. Unlike your normal highlight, this grow out patter is very soft and gradual.

The MOST famous question.

Ultimately it comes down to this, do what makes sense for YOU. I’m not saying over cleansing your hair is the answer or waiting days in between and it’s unbearable. Find the cleansing routine that works for YOU.

Healthy hair comes from a healthy scalp, end of story. If you have excessive product buildup, grease or environmental buildup on your scalp, you’re growing fragile hair. On the flip side, excessively cleansing can lead to a drier scalp.

Hair texture also comes into play trying to find your sweet spot. Someone with curly hair can extend slightly longer in between cleansing due to a natural drier texture. Frequently washing a natural straight texture can encourage brittle ends.

Did this help? Please let me know!

You won’t believe what my guest looked like when she first sat down 👀

If it’s not obvious, someone else touched my work 😩😖

The quality of work seen in these photos, I would never create. However, I’ll take it as a HUGE compliment that my guest came back for a MAJOR fix.

My main focus as pictured was “erasing” a lot of the clear ouch areas. Focusing on reintroducing her natural root color allows a new opportunity to reposition old and new highlights.

Due to application of bleach from previous stylist, my balayage highlights became over processed. When an ashy toner was applied, my areas turned green, while the newer areas were warm. Keeping this in mind, I toned my guest to create a buttery blonde, kicking out that green.

During major fix appointments, not EVERY ouch area can be addressed all at once. Sometimes you need more than one appointment to completely fix or blend everything.

Like what you see? Let me know! 🤍

Not a big change person? No problem.

YOU call the shots when it comes to a balayage brightening service.

This small collection of clients wanted a more natural approach, beautifully sun kissed or slightly darkening up the base for more depth.

If you ask my opinion, I always think the more natural looks are my favorite 🤍

Remember my poll from yesterday? 👀

I couldn’t pick my favorite shot!

First time I saw my beautiful guest, she was a very heavy full foil that needed some TLC 🤦🏽‍♀️

Fast forward a couple years, we transitioned her to a balayage highlight look. This offered her a couple weeks longer in between appointments. Plus, this option is also more gentle on hair that is transitioning through many different life cycles, including baby shed, hormone changes, as well as daily stressors. Mom life you know 🤷🏽‍♀️

Fast forward to present day! I’ve been asking the last couple appointments if she wanted to add some depth back in and IT FINALLY HAPPENED! It’s safe to say I have hair envy, just gorgeous!
