I joke about my spending habits because for YEARS I was honestly such a du***ss with money. I made money, I spent money, and I really wasn’t paying enough attention to where it was going. If I wanted something and I could afford it in that moment… that was basically the entire financial plan. 😭

Getting older, going through a divorce, running my own businesses and realizing that I am responsible for creating my own financial security has completely changed the way I look at money.

Now I actually track my spending. I separate my money. I pay attention to what’s coming in AND what’s going out. I invest. I ask questions. I’m learning things I probably should’ve learned 15 years ago.

And yes, I still buy myself things. I still go out. I still want a beautiful life. I’m not interested in becoming someone who is terrified to spend a dollar.

I just want my money decisions to be intentional instead of impulsive.

As strange as divorce can be, I also recognize what a privilege it is to have this second chance at adulthood,
to become completely financially independent,
build businesses of my own,
create wealth for myself and my family,
and actually understand the money I’m working so hard for.

So yes, I got the Magic Wand debit card because it makes spending money feel ✨whimsical✨.

But unfortunately the woman holding it now checks her accounts. 😂
