Hello Aries clients!
With Spring just around the corner, I wanted to share a little about waxing FAQs! Since becoming an esthetician in 2018, these are easily my top 3 questions I always get! So next time you book a wax, whether its a brazilian or brows you will be prepared!
1️⃣ How long do I have to grow out my hair before a wax?
I always tell my clients that I want at least 3-4 weeks of growth, and most of them are shocked by this answer! Yes, I only need the length of a grain of rice to wax. However, we make you wait because you can have up to 5 HAIRS IN THE SAME PORE. Let's say you shaved 2 weeks ago, then came in for your wax. We will definitely get that first hair out, but there may be more that have not gotten a chance to poke through the skin yet. So grow it out as long as you can stand it before coming in!
2️⃣ Should I trim or exfoliate before my appointment?
DO NOT trim before your wax appointment, I would rather have "too much" to work with than not enough. For exfoliation, I recommend using a non-chemical exfoliant 2 days before your appointment. For example: sugar scrubs, a wash cloth, pumice-based scrubs. DO NOT use any AHAs, BHAs or Retinol for at least a week leading up to your appointment. This may cause your skin to be too sensitive to wax.
3️⃣ What should I do for aftercare?
For the first 24 hours after your wax, you want to avoid any kind of sweat or friction. Also avoid any saunas or pools because the bacteria can easily get into your freshly waxed skin. Once the hair starts to grow back in, start exfoliating regularly 1-2x a week. Lastly, just stock up on your favorite unscented lotion or oil to give some love back to your skin!
Thank you so much for reading, and if you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer in the comments!
❤️Brooke

Happy 2024! We hope to see you soon!
Hamstrings are one of the first places I'll work on, especially for chronic low back tension.
Lateral scapula into mid back. That chain of movement feels soooo good to get worked out. Everything is connected!
I've got openings through the holidays. Check our links to book your own appointment!
It's always a small miracle to get the stars aligned to be able to film some massage. I was so happy to squeeze in a session! Showing a bit of technique to keep that spine moving!

Hello wonderful clients!
Tis the season...for our immune systems to be working hard! Brooke, Amy, and clients are all coming down with seasonal colds the last few weeks. We both have had to cancel a few services and clients have also rescheduled due to sickness. We are completely fine with this.
We ask for grace as we put our health a priority and we hope our clients feel the same. Come in if you feel safe to do so and never worry about asking to cancel or reschedule due to sickness. Also, if you would like your service provider to wear a mask please let us know. We are happy to accomodate however we can.
We do clean and sanitize the space regularly. We also spray common surfaces between clients.
We are all doing our best!
A sincere thank you to the clients that we have had to reschedule. We are forever grateful to have such beautiful people as clients.
Amy has massage availability from 1-5 tomorrow afternoon. Book an appointment for some true self care!
