Valerie, owner and founder, started V's 5 years ago. From there, Kate and Taylor have joined the team, and the vibes are immaculate. We believe in a holistic approach to skincare and life. We're located in Appleton, WI- not too far from downtown. Here's to beautiful, glowing skin 🥂

✨️Grow Out Your Hair: For the best results, hair should be about 1/4 long (about the length of a grain of rice). Usually about 2 weeks of hair growth. This allows the wax to grip the hair effectively. Too much longer can cause more discomfort.

✨️Exfoliate Gently: Leading up to your appointment, start gently exfoliating about 3 times a week to slightly off dead skin cells. This helps prevent ingrowns and ensures a smoother wax. Opt for a mild scrub or exfoliating gloves. *Gently* Exfoliate in a circular motion. Skip day of appt.

✨️Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep the area to be waxed out of the sun 24-48 hours prior to your wax. Sunburned skin is more sensitive and prone to irritation.

✨️Pain Management: If you're concerned about discomfort, consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever 30-60 minutes before your appointment. This can help reduce pain and inflammation during the waxing process.

✨️Avoid Caffeine: Try to avoid caffeine the day of your wax appointment. Caffeine can increase sensitivity and make the waxing process feel more uncomfortable.

✨️Try an Antihistamine: For those with sensitive slin or a history of reactions, taking a non-drowsy antihistamine an hour before the wax can help minimize any potential reaction or excessive redness. **Back waxes are the most common place I see a histamine reaction.

✨️Stay Hydrated: I'm talking about drinking plenty of water but also hydrating from the outside with a moisturizer on the area to be waxed. Well-hydrated skin is more elastic and less likely to get irritated. Using a moisturizer helps to prevent hair 4 in a smoother wax. **Skip the moisturizer on the day of your appointment.
