The skin and its ultraviolet (UV)electromagnetic radiation have the greatest impact on how our skin ages.

UV reaches the skin in two different forms, as UVA and UVB radiation.

UVA radiation, aka aging rays, weakens the skin’s collagen and elastin fibers causing wrinkling and sagging in the tissues. UVA can pe*****te glass and clouds. It is present all year and more prevalent than UVB.

UVB radiation, aka burning rays, causes burning of the skin as well as tanning, aging and cancer. Although UVB pe*******on is shorter than and not as deep as UVA, these wavelengths are stronger and more damaging to the skin and can damage the eyes as well.
