Our Founder: Alan Awar is a leading professional hair stylist originally from West Africa. He is the kind of experienced stylist you need when you have tried everyone and haven't found the service you are looking for. He is here to advise you and work with you to achieve the goal you are visiting him for. He will give you his opinion on what looks good and the best color and cut for your hair. We go through a consultation together until we reach an agreement on the type of treatment you want.

Alan has been a stylist for over 25 years and has worked everywhere including in Paris, Beirut, Dubai and Los Angeles. Trained by professionals, he has a diploma from the L'Oreal Institute and Indola in Paris, France and has been a certified professional educator for major companies in the United States. He also has a certificate of completion from a research laboratory in Atlanta, Georgia in the science of living hair with a score of 100% and a diploma from Wella.

Career Highlights

1985 - Trained at the Indola beauty school in Beirut, Lebanon receiving a certificate of completion for two thousand hours.

1988 –-1995 - Hair stylist and salon owner with six employees in Conakry, West Africa. Worked as a stylist, colorist, and hair cutter for women and men. Sold hair products including Kerastase, L'Oreal, wella and others.

1996-1999 - Hair stylist at Jean Louis-David Salon in Paris, France and trained at L'Oreal in the key of color.

1999 - Moved to the United States to attend beauty school and graduated with a cosmetology license.

2000 - Worked as a station rental stylist at "The New Dimension Salon" in San Marino, CA.

2002 - Opened Renaissance Salon in Arcadia, CA with eight stations, two manicurists and one facial room. Opened a second "Renaissance Salon" in Arcadia, CA hiring twenty two employees.

April 2002 - Received a certificate of accomplishment in the biotechnical study through "The Science of Living Hair" in San Diego, CA.

August 2002 - Trained at the Nioxin Research Laboratory in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated with a 100% score in the biotechnical study and the science of living hair.

2006 - Worked for Nioxin as an educator in the science of growing hair and as a private trainer covering the Simi Valley area.

2008 - Worked for Rusnak, Mercedes-Benz in Arcadia, as a sales associate selling luxury products and took training and classes on sales techniques and client services. He was also chosen for a Mercedes-Benz TV commercial as a lead actor.

2009 - Created his own line of hair products, Bourgeois, offering seventeen products.

2010 - Established a hair salon in Beirut, Lebanon and built a full team and clientele base.

2012 - Worked at the Langham Hotel Spa in Pasadena, CA as a stylist and colorist.
