Me and this angel go way back. So far back, that she was one of my very first brides a decade ago, and was truly such a beautiful part of my own becoming- both personally and professionally. Avi didn’t know it back then, but I was struggling with crippling postpartum anxiety and trauma fallout. I ended up missing her wedding to take care of my own mental health, and while I can’t imagine the stress it added for her to celebration, she was as gracious and understanding as they come.

Now, all this time later, it was some deep healing to get her back in my chair, and given full creative agency over this precious human’s gorgeous head! We spent the afternoon catching up and remembering the decade between us- realizing that the way things come back to us, couldn’t possibly be accidental. The circle continues, forever and ever.

I don’t know if you’re like me, but I was sleeping on the fact that is more than just a brow brand. Y’all, they make it all. And they make it WELL. Pigment for days, formulas that love to be layered and that are made to LAST. Since receiving their line, I’ve used their products on every client. I’m especially in love with their lip products, and reach for them for staying power and hydration. Puerto Rico days 2 & 3-

This place is a kaleidoscope. Trying to document all of the hues and commit them to memory feels beautifully impossible. They’re as varied and vast and enchanting as the colorful people here. Gracious and joyful and relentless- that’s what I’ve found in this unhinged, unapologetic oasis and its inhabitants.

Getting to experience this place with locals feels like the biggest gift. From food to hidden gems and everything in between, our family has immersed us into their home spot and everything that makes it so magical. Leaving no trail untraveled, they’ve taken us all over this island, y’all. I’ve seen trees that make it feel like we in Jurassic park and oceans posing as windows. This place is straight up otherworldly, and I’m in awe of it all.

Vieques was day two, and holy sheets- how is this place even real?! Wild horses, volcanic black beaches and all the snorkeling you could stand. Coen was brave about a 1,000 times, most of which gave me heart palpitations- but alas, we have survived with lots of tales on the other side. He’s absolutely the coolest. Kris played mermaids most of the day, searching out tiny fish and ‘splorin’ the sea- which meant her butt was like a very adorable bobber. No notes. Ten stars.

Day three was a rainy, much needed rest and recovery day. Did a lil shopping at the enormous mall- which has tons of local vendors offering handmade’s of all kinds. And the hot topic was unmatched. UNMATCHED, bro.

Vacation is happening, people. Relaxing. Giggling. Memories. All of it. Someone pinch me.

Puerto Rico day one-

Thanks to some very precious humans (), our first trip together overseas started off with laughs of the medicinal kind. Old friends are the cream of the crop, forever. We love the very best humans, man. In all of our attempts to “hope for the best and plan for the unlikely”, I spent most of the week leading up to our departure in a hefty spiral about the state of the world, and how scary it feels taking the people I hold most dear out of our bubble and into the unknown…trusting that on the other side of the scary was every single thing our souls needed.

Sitting here, listening to these sweet coqui’s chirp their little beeps and boops- I feel so proud of myself and my family. All of us mounted some pretty big feelings to make it across the pond and into the arms of people we spend every day missing. This is the sauce. The scared and do it anyway is the fecking sauce. Watching your baby do it scared is the sauce. A partner willing to pop the bubble every once in a while, for the sake of adventure and connection and memories is the sauce. A culture deeply embedded with love for each other, and a commitment to build a better future together IS THE SAUCE. We are so grateful for this time with each other and our people. Day one was absolute perfection, y’all. Consider this my vacation diary for the next week, and a glimpse into what I hold closest and tightest. Puerto Rico, you’re unlike anything else I’ve ever felt. 🇵🇷 🇵🇷🇵🇷

When I can’t outrun myself, ***ir has a way of helping me set a different pace. The safety this human provides for me and countless other women, is truly immeasurable.

I’m no newbie to Sarah’s lens, by any means…but, I guess that’s why it’s so special every time I get the opportunity to be seen by this brilliant human. From lighting to set design to hype- she’s always fire. Always bringing new ideas and honing in her skill. It’s been a constant stream of inspiration for the better part of a decade just being near Sarah, and this shoot was just more evidence that the trust I feel in this woman is never in vein. She brings out and sees the best in me, always. And god, it’s just such a gift, man.
