Grey blending is an art that I have struggled to get right. It’s probably one of the most difficult coloring techniques we do… but today was my day.. I broke the code and got it right and I’m so happy with the results. I didn’t get a before picture but her ends were a warm level 6/7 with about 1.5 inches of grey roots. Is it ok to admit I’m proud of myself???

Inspo ⬅️ what she got ➡️. Obviously we aren’t going to match an AI picture perfectly but I think we got pretty close. Her hair color is naturally lighter than the inspo pic, and we didn’t want to darken.

When I explain to my clients lifting box color off of your hair is a process, this is what I mean. In the middle of this process, she went with a family member to someone else for a haircut… needless to say, we added extensions into the process. So matching the hair, to hair that were changing every appt isn’t an easy process. We pivot and we take hair out and we add hair in. Changing the tones and levels each time. But, we have barely had to cut any more of her natural hair because we have taken our time with this lift, and because I am very thoughtful with my installs, she has hardly any hair loss as well. This is a success story and this is why I love this job.
